Youth Sada in partnership with BP Oman, concludes ‘Habbah’ programme
In partnership with BP Oman, Youth Sada held a virtual ceremony marking the conclusion of the ‘Habbah’ programme, under the patronage of Najeeb bin Ali bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah Governorate.
The programme aimed at developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Al Dhahirah Governorate and targeted entrepreneurs, students and jobseekers.
The programme included open-to-public activities and specialised training courses attending to the current challenges faced by businesses.
The training courses focused on business model development, human resources management, financial management, project marketing, business growth planning and contract and bid management. A total of 15 businesses and over 1,000 participants from around Oman participated in the programme.
Shamsa Al-Rawahiya, BP Oman Social Investment Manager, commented, “This programme reflects BP Oman’s commitment to diversifying our national economy by empowering start-up SMEs to run their business sustainably through unprecedented challenges. Our social investment programmes aim to support economic diversification, job creation and the overall development of Omani people in line with the nation’s development goals. To date, over 94,000 people have benefitted directly through 106 initiatives since the launch of BP’s programmes in 2014.”
Qais Al Maqrashi, Chief Executive Officer at Youth Sada, added: “The ‘Habbah’ programme came at an exceptional time this year. It focused on addressing current developments in the small businesses sectors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our programme played a huge role in supporting SMEs to manage these challenges by designating a specialised consultation and training team to help the start-ups come up with applicable and sustainable solutions.”
It is worth noting that during the ceremony, Youth Sada announced the launch of its programme cycle for the year 2021 which are the Youth Sada Centre programme, Reading Family programme, and the third edition of the Al Dhahirah Leadership Forum and lastly the second cycle of the ‘Habbah’ programme.
